![]() ![]() The Gorilla glass surface is tough and feels hugely smooth: a must for Creative users since they can work for hours without having their fingertips irritated by a coarser texture. ![]() ![]() The Trackpad is very large and comfortable, even if you perform complex Windows gestures. This immediate backlight trigger is a very nice touch since today’s laptops often force you to expressly turn the backlight ON, only to shut it down a minute later if you’re not actively typing, which is quite annoying if you’re reading or watching a video. The key travel seems to be 1mm or slightly lower, and the amber backlight is beautiful and turns on as soon as you press a key. The full-size keyboard features large keys that are comfortable and non-slippery. We’ve seen how much extra performance RAID0 can add when reviewing the Acer Triton 500 SE. Note that it is possible to add up to 64GB of RAM and 2TB of storage in a RAID0 configuration. At publishing time, the laptop retailed for $1999.99. ![]() There’s 1TB of storage in the form of a Samsung MZVL21T0HCLR-00B7, which is an OEM version of the popular Samsung 980 Pro SSD. The particular unit we’re reviewing is the Acer ConceptD 5 (SKU CN516-72G-787Y) with the Intel Core i7-11800H, 16GB of DDR 3200Mhz RAM, and the NVIDIA RTX3060 6GB. The industry’s answer is laptops such as the Acer ConceptD 5, which is graphically as powerful as (similar-size) gaming rigs but with faster storage, higher max RAM, better displays, and a corporate-friendly design. Workstations have adequate hardware and displays but come with enterprise features and warranties thatmight be overkill (and overpriced) for freelancers or small businesses. Also, the display quality is often not high enough for professional graphics work. Gaming laptops’ component pricing might be optimized by using a low RAM configuration (16GB) or a slower hard drive without affecting the gaming experience that much. However, neither was perfect for the new generation of creative pros and influencers. This rising category has experienced a lot of buoyancy in the past couple of years, reflecting a growing demand for powerful mobile computers to handle professional graphics tasks.Įither Gaming laptops or Workstations partially addressed this category in the past. and u can share your side of experience after updating which will be really beneficial for the community. The Acer ConceptD 5 (2021) with Intel 11th Gen CPU and RTX 3000 GPU is a prominent laptop for “Creative” professionals. I suggest trying out the new latest 2.02 bios version. * Since undervolting is unlocked and not disabled and also because i didn't experience any sort of performance drop in games and heavy workloads or any bugs or platform specific incompatibility or instability issues till now. Īlso ran a geekbench 5 cpu and compute benchmark and i got approximately similar scores after and before the bios update. Got the same perfomance from gpu overclocking in all three modes (normal, fast, extreme) after the latest bios update. i didn't face any difficulties while using the turbo mode button to overclock the gpu after the latest bios update. The issue of fans noise and speed ramping up little when the charge is below 50 and when the laptop is connected to the power brick seems to be solved in my unit. The rpm of fan is displayed accurately in predator sense.Īnd there is no difference in fan speed or fan noise in all three modes auto, custom and max. There was no change in the fan curve in any way after the bios update. And the os as a whole seemed slightly more snappy dont know if thats my feeling or what. I observed that the acer care center overall became slightly more faster while loading and opening. In my unit i didn't find any sort of platform specific bugs, incompatibility or instability issues till now if it occurs i will update it here.Īnd the lagginess experienced while changing the brightness of the display by pressing Fn keys has not been solved apparently in my unit. The cpu ,gpu and system temps were same in games and when not using the laptop after the new bios update. so there was no difference in cpu and gpu temps. The benchmark scores in games in custom settings in ultra was same before and after the bios update. so i didn't find any difference in cpu.And there is no lock for Undervolting limits. *Undervolting is not disabled in 2.02 ,throttlestop worked without any issues. So i did the bios version update directly from 1.06 to 2.02. Since 1.07, 1.08 version had Undervolting disabled by acer and had other issues i had stayed on 1.06 version.Windows 10 version was 20h2 while testing. So guys so i updated the bios to the latest version which is 2. ![]()
